Galina Jitlina

 Galina Jitlina has over 40 years of teaching and performing experience as a professional guitarist and guitar teacher. She holds a Baccalaureate with honours in classical guitar from the Mussorgsky College of Music in St. Petersburg. She has pursued further advanced training in the Suzuki method, and is passionate about using the Suzuki method with young guitarists. Galina's students have received RCM Gold Medals, and competed and won awards in both International and Provincial Music Festivals. Quite a few of Galina's students have gone on to pursue music professionally. 

In her home of Vancouver, Galina has been a strong advocate of classical guitar music. She is a founding director of the Vancouver Classical Guitar Society, which promotes guitar education and increases the public’s understanding and appreciation of classical guitar music. She was a Chair of the VCGS for many years, and continues to serve the Society as a volunteer. Further, Galina is a Cerifited Teacher of the Royal Conservatory of Music, as well as a member of the Registered Music Teachers Association and the Suzuki Association.
